Party planning has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl, but it wasn’t until 2011 that I turned my love for party planning into Michelle’s Party Plan-It. I am a working mom of 3 boys between the ages of 4 and 14 and in my spare time I enjoying crafting and party planning. My sons are a huge help to me and the inspiration behind many of my party shenanigans.
Today I am sharing a quick and easy American Flag Cereal Treat, perfect for Fourth of July, Flag Day, Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day.
Ingredients:
- Rice Cereal
- Marshmallows
- Marshmallow flavored candy melts
- Blue sugar crystals
- Red sugar crystals
Directions:
Prepare the rice cereal treats (Kellogg’s has a great recipe on their site).
Spread the cereal/marshmallow mixture evenly on a cookie sheet.
Once cooled, sprinkle the blue sugar crystals in the upper left corner in a shape of a rectangle.
Using the red sugar crystals, carefully sprinkle stripes across the sheet of cereal treats.
In a small bowl, melt the candy melts according to the package directions.
To create white stripes, use a butter knife or mini spatula and spread the melted candy between the red sugar crystal stripes.
I added non-edible paper stars for presentation purposes, but you can add star sprinkles if you have them
