Birthdays are so special, and should be celebrated from start to finish! After all, they only come around once a year, so make every moment of it count. If you have a little lady who is a hoot, and you want to start her special day off right, then a surprise owl themed birthday breakfast is a must! In addition to an actual birthday, celebrating a half-birthday (half age mark) is another great way to show your little lady how awesome she is…who wouldn’t love 2 birthdays, right?!
Thanks to a quick trip to Target and Michaels, along with some amazing owl printables from Forever Your Prints, I had everything I needed to pull off this cute set-up. To add a little fun to the backdrop, created with gift wrap, I fringed the ends of each layer and added owl stickers and the Forever Your Prints owl banner. I just couldn’t resist adorning a flower bow on the plush owl’s ears and owl stickers on the party hats and straws, for extra cuteness.
Breakfast itself even had an owl twist, with my version of an owl face pancake, along with applesauce, cheerios and milk! Whether set-up in the birthday girl’s room or in the dining room, this breakfast is sure to be one special surprise. In order to create the owl face pancake follow these simple steps:
1) Make 2 – 4 pancakes (2 pancakes needed per owl face).
2) On 1 pancake, add vanilla icing or whip cream to make the eyes and add a cocoa puff in the center.
3) Using another pancake, cut out two small triangles for the ears and 1 smaller triangle for the nose.
4) Viola, your owl face is all done!
With girly fall flair, owl embellishments, the cutest printables, and of course breakfast, you’ve got a set-up that screams “You’re a Hoot, Birthday Girl”…or Half-Birthday Girl! Not only is this breakfast perfect for an early morning celebration, but also a great way to just simply jazz up your little ones breakfast, especially if they’re a hoot!
