Thanksgiving is over. Bring on the busted budgets and endless hours spent searching for the perfect gifts for our loved ones. Every year I spend too much time worrying about whether I got the right gift. This year, I’m looking for fun, creative gifts that I can put together myself. It’s a great way to create more personal gifts for your loved ones, while keeping an eye on the budget.
Teacher Gifts
We all want to gift a little something to the teacher during the holiday season to show our appreciation, but when you have more than one teacher, and/or more than one child, all of those teacher gifts can really add up. Here are a few quick and affordable ideas to show you care without breaking the bank.

These cute little jars from The Suburban Mom are simple and expensive and make the perfect little gift for teachers and coaches.

I’m a sucker for mason jar gifts, and I LOVE getting pampering gifts like this DIY peppermint foot soak, so naturally it’s the type of gift I love giving as well. Click on the image for the recipe and instructions from Suburban Simplicity

Themed gifts with a gift tag featuring a play on words are always adorable, like this idea from Everyday SavvyFamily Gifts.

Who doesn’t need a little caffeine boost to get them through the day? And when you’re dealing with dozens of littles? Well, I think they’ll treasure all the caffeine they can get! This darling “Thanks a Latte” card from Skip to My Lou is a great way to present a gift card to your favorite teacher 🙂
Family Gifts
I married into a very large family, so we do a gift exchange or make family gifts instead of buying for each person. I love giving gifts that encourage spending time together. There’s nothing better than setting the stage for a family to create new holiday memories. Here are a few of my favorites.

This Christmas Eve Box idea from The Dating Divas is something my family does. Package up a Christmas movie, movie snacks, popcorn, cozy jammies, and cocoa and cozy up for a night of family fun.

This is another one that I really love! Give a gift basket with everything they need for a yummy Christmas morning breakfast. This luxurious basket from Curly Q Paper is a great idea, but with this idea, you’re only limited by your imagination. A few years ago I made family baskets with sausage balls, madeleines, cocoa, and juice for a quick Christmas breakfast that just needed to be warmed up.

Movie Night baskets are one of my “go-to” gifts! Perfect for someone that is hard to buy for (who doesn’t love movies), or for a family gift. Load it up with movie snacks, popcorn, and a DVD or gift card. Click the image for the cute printables from The DIY Mommy.
